Crow's Nest - Accessibility

The chalet is located on a steepish incline within and above the village. The private entrance is via Duck Steps which are paved stairs with a handrail leading from Garrett street below to New Road above. There are 97 steps in total but, coming from above, the entrance is 20 steps down so easier for loading and unloading luggage or food shopping. At night, a torch would be useful as, although there is sufficient ambient light from street lights, extra light would improve confidence. There is a small spare torch in the chalet should you need one.

The entrance is through a standard width wooden green door leading to the decked veranda and front door to the chalet. There is a 9" step up to this front door and, once inside the property, there is a 7" step up to the bedroom and bathroom area.
The bathroom has a laminate oak effect wood floor and there is a 9" step up into the quadrant shower cubicle.

In front of the chalet the decking extends the full width of the garden and 4 stone steps lead down from this to a paved patio area below. This paved area has two deck chairs and small table. Although no rail is provided here the steps are reasonably wide and support can be obtained by using the adjacent decking and balustrade.
The exposed decking area may become slippery when wet, especially in winter months. The area is regulary pressure washed to reduce this problem but care should be taken.
